What I ended up doing, because my first time out was on a holiday, and I would be getting there pretty late at night, I looked at the maps in my package, and found a few reference points, roads, etc, and then looked on Google Maps until I found some of the same points. From Google Maps, I found the GPS coordinates, and was able to drive right to it. Usually the maps will have a scale on them, so even if you drive 1 mile past a reference point, or what ever, you can probably figure it out. Once there, I walked around until I started finding the survey markers, so I knew for sure I was on the right parcels. Something else I did, was to walk the property, and use my camera phone to take pictures of all the survey markers. Even though I didn't have cell coverage, the phone recorded GPS positions of each picture automatically, so after, I could use Google Maps to mark where each picture was taken. Hope that makes sense?
Go to dept transportation el paso state road dept will look up 911address and assign it you also go to this department to get permit to install driveway after plan is approved. If you live on rm1111 I strongly recommend that you get all regulations, permits before you do anything construction wise. Rio grand electric in dell is provider for 1111 they also have telephone company. The only electronics that work in sunset ranch is gps devices
We just bought 60 acres in blue quail 3. We were wondering what you did for water so far and also what you did for an address. That is one of the problems we are having is getting a physical address for the property.
To get a 911 address you must have your plot from your single piece of land that you will have home on measured from the main road with your plot maps and area measured and marked on it, until it reaches your driveway....... then you take it to the Sierra Blanca courthouse where they will process it down to El Paso then send it back to you a certificate of 911 address, an then go to the post office they will give you a post office box with your address for a mailing address.
The past week I have been on the phone with officials in SB. They are so helpful. Getting your 911 address is a snap, from there you go to the post office and get your PO Box. I'm more then willing to share the info I found with anyone!
Call Aaron Burciaga at the Rio Grand Council of Governments for your Address. Have your plat map handy when you call as you will need the information on there. He is a great guy and will even email the docs to you if you already left your last address and moved out to your property.
His number is 915-533-0998 Ext 127
