I have purchased 60 acres north of sierra blanca at sunset ranches. Can you tell me of any health issues with air or water there because I have read some about toxic sludge dumping and am starting to worry a little.
Lets talk about water........that is the key to any of the land with
Sunset Ranches. Which phase are you in. I am in Blue Quail #3.
I have not heard of any health issues from the Sludge thing...and would not worry, unless you are sitting right on top or next to a dumping site.
I would like to know where I can get a copy of those maps showing where the sludge was dumped. Do you know where I can get one?
I have just bought 20 acres from Sunset Ranches, just west of 111 in Blue Quail III. I am going to be drilling for my own water, as it is the key for my development, and those around me. I will coming in Jan 2014, to build my own residence.
I just purchased land in Blue Quail Ranch 3 for 60 acres 601,606,607.
Haven't been there. Seems like a lot of people are already building there. You think it is safe despite of the "waste issue"?.
The treated sewage dumping ran it's final load in 2001, it was a short lived contract and not close to my property, the FORMER dumping area from over 15 years ago is many miles away and there is no odor. The air is clean, wildlife is healthy....... There's an aquifer very deep, but it's there. A few have water delivered, that's no worse and less expensive than for people pay a municipality for services in a city, in many ways it's better..... I also did my own research and visited my sellers office in person. It isn't a scam. It's a simple owner financing contract, "not unusual" for this part of the country.
The land is great ,the people on sunset ranch are friendly and helpful with info. No smells just wildlife and cows, and yes like any other place if you don't pay your payments you have to move on. Its not for everyone, but we love it. Just don't go crazy with excitement and buy more than you can pay for.
Russell, I keep hearing people talk about having water hauled out but can't find anyone that knows who to contact about getting the water hauled out to the property. If you happen to know who to contact about a hauling service I would appreciate knowing a name or phone number. any assistance would be greatly appreciated. David - Email at email@example.com
Haha my parcel is south of Sierra Blanca. One of the southern-most ones, right up against the mountain. I imagine you can't bury crap in rock, but I can't find the map of the waste disposal sites to know for sure. Can you point me in the right direction?
